Life goes on and regenerates: Alejandro Marmo shows us with extreme simplicity and artistic skill that a wonderful work of art can come out of what seems to be useless. Among these materials, iron is his favourite. As Marmo states, the use of iron helps him to get in touch with his roots, to keep changing with the times and to reappraise memory, which is the core of his work. “I have fond memories of my childhood years: I remember the incessant melody of the hammering of metal at my father’s smithy, his firm hand merging with the iron, the rusty mornings covered in rusty-colored fog, and the dark view of the world through the goggles”.
